Black lives matter.
Say their names. Support the protestors.
We must not sit idly by while injustice continues to
take the lives and livelihoods of black Americans.
To not act is to condone this violence, to condone the
systemic oppression that has denied people of color equality
since the fouding of this nation.

[Black people are five times more likely to be injured by police and twice as likely to die](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5052149/) than white people.
All of this is exacerbated by a pandemic during which black men are treated with suspicion for wearing masks.
A pandemic that is [killing black people six times more](https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/04/07/coronavirus-is-infecting-killing-black-americans-an-alarmingly-high-rate-post-analysis-shows/?arc404=true) than white people.
The cop who murdered George Floyd was arrested on charges of third degree murder.
The police arrested members of the media covering the protests before
arresting a man who was filmed pressing his knee into George Floyd's neck for nine minutes.
Charges only of third degree murder, murder "without the intent to effect the death of any person".
